Die Trommel besitzt einen basslastigen, voluminösen Klang und ist dennoch federleicht. Gespielt wird die Schamanentrommel traditionell mit einem speziell dafür vorgesehen Schlägel (im Lieferumfang enthalten). Je größer der Durchmesser der Trommel desto basslastiger werden die spielbaren Töne.
Diese Trommel besitzt auf dem Trommelfell eine schwarze Bemalung in Anlehnung an das Kokopelli Symbol der Amerikanischen Ureinwohner Anasazi Indianer. Der Rahmen ist mit Federn in Naturfarben und Holzperlen verziert.
Als Begleitinstrument eignen sich Maultrommeln und Shaker/Rasseln.
