Die Blume des Lebens ist ein Ornament, bestehend aus 19 Kreisbögen, welche sich auf einem sechseckigen Ausschnitt eines Dreiecksgitters an den Gitterpunkten schneiden, umfasst und begrenzt von einem äußeren Kreis. So entstehen neunzig Linsen.
Bedeutung
Die Blume des Lebens wird oft als Symbol gesehen, das den Zyklus der Schöpfung enthält oder nachbildet. Alles Leben und Bewusstsein entspringt einer Quelle (der erste, äußere Kreis).
Die inneren Kreise Symbolisieren das Entspringen aus dieser Quelle, den Zyklus der Entwicklung bis zum Entstehen neuer Quellen und somit den vollständigen Lebenszyklus (zum Beispiel wie bei einem Baum, vom Samen des Baumes als Quelle - über das Wachstum bis zum neuen Baum).
Yin Yang
Yin und Yang sind zwei Begriffe der chinesischen Philosophie.
Sie stehen für einander entgegengesetzte und dennoch aufeinander bezogene Kräfte oder Prinzipien und die daraus entstehende Harmonie. Das bekannteste Symbol dafür ist das Taijitu, in dem das weiße Yang (hell, hart, heiß, männlich, aktiv, Bewegung) und das schwarze Yin (dunkel, weich, kalt, weiblich, passiv, Ruhe) gegenüberstehend dargestellt werden.
